Time to hibernate or time to celebrate?

Time to hibernate or time to celebrate?

Winter is traditionally the time to hibernate. Take stock. Bunker down. Reserve your fuel for the long dark nights ahead.

But this year the winds of change and renewal seem to be waking me up rather than settling me down.

Out in the big wild world- there are signs that there has been a shift of energy and possibility all over the place. Did you know in the last few weeks we have binned the single-use plastic bag for good? Approved assisted dying laws in NSWReset consent laws so that an enthusiastic YES is the base level. The election has given us our most diverse representation yet with 11 women in cabinet, 10 First Nations representatives and a promise to recognise the Uluru Statement of the Heart as a first order priority.

Good news. Exciting news. The stuff of optimism, tolerance, kindness, community and progress. Yay.

At WorkLife there is a hankering to put this financial year to bed. To say goodbye to the wobbly line on the P&L that has charted the various false starts to the economies post-covid recovery. We have a positive plan for 2022/2023 and are delighted to flick the switch from survive back to thrive and to be seeing some consistency and momentum return to our lives and businesses.

That alongside the best start to the ski season in 20 years has got me feeling pretty excited about Winter this year.

So ditch the hibernate- it’s time to celebrate!

We can’t wait to see you soon,

Kate
