Lets get this party started!
I hope that by now you are on the downhill slope of 2024 and looking forward to a great break with friends and family to take stock, rest and renew.
I am feeling energetically out of kilter with most of the WorkLife community and team at the moment having just returned from a 3 week coming-of-age adventure with my 15 year old son in Mexico. I reminded myself of why taking a break and looking at the world from a fresh perspective is so valuable.
So with a clear head, a spring in my step and an abundance of plans emerging for 2025- I have had a head start on the holidays and can’t wait for you all to catch up!
2024 has been a HUGE one for WorkLife- we launched in 2017 to create a community of people who similarly valued community, balance and creativity- and whilst I can feel the 7 year itch starting- I am delighted to look back at what was achieved in 2024 and know that those original values are still very much alive.
Here is a highlights reel of WorkLife’s 2024….
January// We declared 2024 the year of “Enough” and set about delivering enough revenue, enough members, enough joy and enough progress to balance the books and consolidate our post-covid recovery.
February// WorkLife started the working year with our highest revenue and highest member numbers ever. A great start to the year!
March// WorkLife hosted our annual series of International Women’s Day events
April// As President of the Berry Chamber of Commerce & Tourism I was delighted when we won the TOP SMALL TOURISM TOWN for NSW for the third year in a row- we now have Hall of Fame status and never have to apply again 😉
May// We finally completed our Planning Day Packages and broke through a number of our goals for community engagement, social media followings and launched our bi-monthly LocalLife E-newsletters for Picton, Berry & Coledale.
June// WorkLife WON the Best Small Business for Shoalhaven and was voted finalist for Illawarra and Wollondilly in the same category.
July// WorkLife Picton celebrated our first birthday and we hosted our second Startup Sparks event for young entrepreneurs to introduce them to what it takes to run a small business.
August// As Co-Chair of Flexible Workspace Australia, I hosted our Annual Conference and Awards in Melbourne
September// We achieved our Social Enterprise goals for the year by receiving our Social Traders Certification and passed our B-Corp assessment with flying colours.
October// We celebrated small business month with a campaign of Friendly Friday’s
November// We launched Yakka’s Southern Wine Bar @ SocialLife in Berry
December//…..stay tuned on our socials, because this week I will be announcing a bold new community initiative for 2025- because hope is a verb- and it’s time to stand up and speak out for a positive plan for our kids futures.
I hope that you have a wonderful break this summer and that as you connect with your people, rest and reset- that you are excited to get started on your own community/ productivity / balance goals for the year ahead.
When you are ready to get started, we are looking forward to seeing you at your local WorkLife to cheer you on!
Best wishes,
Kate
