Meet Anna Wiewiora aka Annamul
Community and Background:
Can you tell us a bit about your journey to the Berry community? How did you end up here and what attracted you to this community?
I actually started at WorkLife Kiama when it first opened.
I’m a longtime local and have lived in different parts of the South Coast since I was five, after my family migrated from Poland. My parents wanted a quieter life away from the pace of Kraków under a communist regime. As an architect and engineer, they could have easily moved to Sydney for work opportunities, however they did all they could to live in regional Australia for a better lifestyle. It’s the best decision they have made, and I’m incredibly grateful I grew up here.
Business and Entrepreneurship:
Tell us about your work. How and when did you decide to start it, and what motivated you to take the plunge into entrepreneurship or remote work?
I’ve always been fascinated by the power of brands and how strongly they can shape perception and evoke loyalty. After working and living in London for several years I felt it was time to go out on my own. I work under the name annamul, helping businesses close the gap between where they are and where they want to be through strategic branding, design, photography and creative direction. Whether they’re starting out, growing or evolving, I ensure every customer touchpoint reflects the quality of the business, builds trust and attracts the right people.
What does work-life balance look like for you? How do you manage the demands of work while ensuring time for family and personal life?
For me, it’s having the flexibility to fit life around work, not the other way around. I love being able to go for a walk, swim or train during the day, catch up with family or friends, and finish early enough to enjoy the afternoon. It means work feels like part of life, rather than life revolving around work.
In your industry, what recent disruptions or transitions have had the most significant impact on your business?
AI is obviously the big talking point. I use it where it’s genuinely useful, but I don’t see it replacing thoughtful branding and design soon. AI is great for generating ideas, but not tasteful execution and it doesn’t understand context, nuance, human emotion or user experience. The businesses that value those things will always look for expertise beyond AI.
Personal Life:
Outside of work, what are your hobbies and passions? How do you like to spend your time when you’re not focused on business or family?
I’m happiest outdoors and moving. After spending the day behind a computer, I love moving, whether that’s training handstands (yes its a thing), calisthenics, yoga, hiking, walking or swimming.
I’m also passionate about sustainability, native plants and bush regeneration. My husband and I are building our forever home on acreage, so weekends are often spent planting natives, working on the property or simply relaxing around a campfire.
I also love travelling, especially to experience different cultures, architecture and natural landscapes.
Are there any books or podcasts you’ve found particularly inspiring or informative recently? Any recommendations for the WorkLife community?
Podcast: The Proof with Simon Hill – science backed conversions around nutrition, well-being and exercise without the hype.
Book: Sapiens by Yuval Noah Harari – The history of humankind and how environment, behaviour and social dynamics have made us who we are now with all our differences.
How do you maintain boundaries between work and personal life? Any top tips?
Having a dedicated workspace makes a huge difference. When I work from home, I keep it to one room so the rest of the house still feels like home. I also find coming into WorkLife helps create a clear separation between work and downtime.
Home and Lifestyle:
What is your taste like? Do you have a favourite item of furniture or object in your home? Anything that has special significance or tells a story about you?
Minimalist, Scandinavian, balanced with natural Australian materials and textures.
One of my favourite pieces at home is an architect designed vase I bought while in Copenhagen. It reminds me of the incredible design culture there and reminds me of our Scandinavian travels.
What do you like/appreciate about the design at WorkLife? Any favourite touches or things that make you feel at home when you are at work?
I really appreciate how considered and consistent the spaces feel. Coledale in particular has a thoughtfully designed environment that’s genuinely enjoyable to work in.
If you were to showcase the best of the local lifestyle to visiting friends, where would you take them and why?
The beaches along the South Coast especially the quieter ones further south. They’re beautiful, never overcrowded and capture everything I love about living here.
Productivity and Time Management:
What’s your go-to productivity hack? How do you stay organised and efficient, especially with multiple responsibilities?
I’m a big fan of to-do lists, there’s nothing more satisfying than crossing things off.
I also make sure I get up every hour for a quick movement snack. Whether it’s making a cup of tea, stretching or doing something around the house, it helps me reset and stay focused throughout the day.
Benefits of WorkLife Membership:
Lastly, what’s been the most valuable aspect of being a member at WorkLife for you and your work?
Without question, the people. I’ve met some incredible people through WorkLife, friends and collaborators. Having a community like that around you is invaluable when you’re running your own business.
